In September 2024, CORE-BD continued collaboration with the Daymark Foundation (a private family foundation based in Toronto Canada) to co-host the 2024 global gathering focused on early intervention for bipolar disorder. The meeting was held in Reykjavik, Iceland, immediately before the 26th annual conference of the International Society for Bipolar Disorders (ISBD). CORE-BD’s Dr Craig Macneil and Dr Melissa Hasty presented insights and lessons learned from their recent project which involved interviews with key leaders from other successful global mental mental health movements. Stakeholders got their gears turning in productive discussions about a potential Global Alliance focused on early intervention for bipolar. The Daymark Foundation also arranged a spectacular evening cruise around Faxaflói Bay followed by dinner at Reykjavík’s Old Harbor for participants to network while enjoying Reykjavik sights and flavours!
